Social Day Care for Dementia: "SPA Services Offered"
A collaboration between Stein Senior Center and International Center for the Disabled (ICD) will offer the following services:
- Supervised socialization
- Art, Music, Recreation/Exercise programs
- Snacks
- Dementia specific activities
- Caregiver support and counseling
Relief and Support for Families
Caregivers will be able to join a support group at Stein led by an Alzheimer's Association trained leader.
Schedule for "SPA"
The new program will initially meet 3 days per week : Mon, Wed, Fri, 1:30 to 4:30 pm. The program is supervised in a dedicated space within Stein Senior Center . Exercise (led by a physical therapist), arts and music will be employed to stimulate interest and activity. Small groups will foster an intimate, secure atmosphere. Participants will join senior center activities when appropriate.
Cyber Cafe
The Stein Senior Center Cyber Café offers computer access to seniors and visitors. It consists of sixteen individual Dell desktop computers, each equip with wireless internet access.
